How to Finger Wave

I have bee a very bad blogger & commenter lately, but I will get into detail about that in the next post. I recently, for the first time, clicked the little "stats" tab in Blogger and it turns out that pretty much everyone who gets here via search engine is looking for something finger wave related. So without further ado, how to fingerwave!

This is the exact technique I've used for years. It turns out better or crappier, but in general this is how I do it.

Todays results:

They weren't quite dry on the larger side but I had to leave, so I just stuck a couple bobby pins in and waited an hour or so and took them out then.

Previous results! Same technique, just sometimes more rigid or soft.

If you have any questions or comments please don't hesitate! Input makes it easier for me to make tuts :

  3. I may give this a whirl when my bangs get longer, though not sure yet what I'd do with the rest of my hair yet. Perhaps tucked up under. Thanks for the straightforward tutorial!

  11. Fabulous! - I would love to try something like this but I think it works best with a flapper-length hairstyle. The final photo is just a knockout - very reminiscent of Jean Harlow!

  21. Thank you so much!! I'm in a play and my role is that of a 1930s actress. After doing some research I found platinum blonde fingerwaves were the hight of fashion but I didn't have any modern directions or images to take to my stylist (my hair is way too long for fingerwaves). THANK YOU!!!

  28. I have long hair and wear it finger waved very often; get lots of compliments from young, mid-age and older women AND men! I get the top and down to my top neck get waved and let the rest fall straight or sometimes get it crimped. Love it.
